The Lakeside Hotel and Spa is a 4 star hotel set on the edge of Lake Windermere in the Lake District. The former coaching inn from the 17th century feels large but not sprawling and has the most amazing lakeside views. They have really large family rooms here complete with sofa beds along with interconnecting rooms. There’s a touch of Old World class here with a pianist in the evening adding to the atmosphere.
Families will love the huge breakfast spread and great hot items too. There’s an indoor swimming pool which is perfect to burn off any remaining energy after days out exploring the beautiful countryside (Bowness and Ambleside are an easy trip from here).

This hotel feels like a breath of fresh air and we were so welcomed here. The kids adored the pool and we had some amazing excursions from the hotel including a boat trip across the Lakes and to the aquarium. We thought the food was particularly high quality and loved the vegetarian breakfast. The family room was so large and had great views across Lake Windermere. This felt like one of those hotels you want to come back to year after year to build memories at. A hotel and holiday with all the best parts of yesteryear.
