The Radisson Blu Hotel Madrid Prado blends perfectly into its environment in the Atocha District of the city. Set almost opposite the world famous Prado Museum this is a cultural (and transport) hub area which is filled with lovely backstreets full of atmospheric restaurants and beautiful buildings of which the hotel is one. With 48 rooms and 5 suites this is a great boutique style hotel that has all the benefits of this fantastic hotel chain.

This cosy hotel feels perfect for a stay in Madrid city and will allow you to feel as if you’re living in the centre. Throw open the tall doors to the balconies that overlook the (largely) pedestrianised terrace out the front. Feel the hum of the city around you paired perfectly with the calm within.

The Family Hotel Expert view –
We felt the Radisson Blu in Madrid was a really welcoming space. We loved the lobby which always had baskets of apples, bottles of water and sweets to enjoy as we were passing through. The spa is a good addition but a hefty charge (€25 per person for use of the pool) meant we didn’t use it. There aren’t really lounges to enjoy but the rooms are spacious and well kitted out so we felt very able to relax in the hotel.

There are lots of different configurations of rooms at the Radisson Blu Madrid Prado, from suites with lounge areas to standard doubles. If you’re visiting with kids there are interconnecting rooms and you can have suites interconnecting with doubles for maximum space. The rooms have lovely bathrooms complete with products in non disposable bottles. The rooms come with Nespresso machines and fabulous art work.
The Family Hotel Expert view –
We loved the rooms at the Radisson Blu Madrid Prado. We stayed in a suite interconnected with a double which gave us a huge amount of space to really relax in. We loved being able to open the doors on to the balcony although it’s something to bear in mind if you have young children. The beds were incredibly comfortable and we really enjoyed all the space to really relax.

The Atocha area of Madrid is a really lovely area to be based in. Just across from hotel is the Prado Museum and also the wonderful El Retiro park. There are lots of great restaurants and cafes here and it’s a short walk in to the centre of the city.
The Family Hotel Expert view –
We really enjoyed staying in this area of the city. There were lots of places to wander from the centre and all the shops through to the fantastic El Retiro Park with its boating lake and sense of space. The train station is really close to the hotel and there are so many restaurants nearby.
Food and drink at the Radisson Blu Madrid Prado
There is one restaurant at the hotel which is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We only ate breakfast at the hotel.

We ate breakfast at the hotel during the pandemic so we’re unsure whether there is usually a buffet in the same way that there is in other Radisson Blu hotels. Nevertheless the breakfast at the Radisson Blu Madrid Prado was outstanding. There was a bowl of pastries brought to the table along with freshly squeezed juices and hot drinks. We could then order from a hotel menu that included all the classics along with pancakes and berries, avocado on toast and porridge. We enjoyed breakfast here every morning.

This is a really friendly and welcoming hotel. Kids will love the sweets and apples in reception and the space to relax in the rooms. It’s a great, safe feeling area and a real benefit to have the park so close by to enjoy.
