Located in the bustling centre of Kuala Lumpur, the Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur offers a blend of luxury and convenience, making it an ideal choice for families exploring the city.
Kulala Lumpur is a brilliant city for family adventures. Make your way to the top of the Petronas Twin Towers, explore the evocative Batu Caves or have fun at Kidzania. When you’re looking for a family hotel Kuala Lumpur has a number of great ones but the best hotel in KL for family has to be the Shangri La. This fantastic hotel has family rooms that are spacious and very well appointed. Kids will love the breakfast which comes with a chocolate fountain and frozen yoghurt machine. The rooftop pool is gorgeous and the location is great – just five minutes walk to the Twin Towers. When it comes to Kuala Lumpur family resorts this is one of the best.

Nestled on a private beach, The Westin Langkawi Resort & Spa offers a tranquil escape with stunning sea views, perfect for families seeking relaxation.
Langkawi is always going to b a great island to visit with kids. Covered in beautiful beaches this is somewhere to come and relax and enjoy some great family time. There are plenty of watersports to enjoy if that’s your thing and you can take some wildlife walks to see some of the gorgeous creatures here. When looking for a family hotel Langkawi has a number for every budget but the Westin Langkawi has to be up there as one of the best. There are a range of different options for a family stay with interconnecting rooms and multiple bedroom suites. This is a large resort with four outdoor pools and six restaurants. It doesn’t feel sprawling though, the Westin Langkawi exudes luxury and is absolutely beautiful. A great place for a family stay.

Our family stay here was memorable due to the resort’s serene environment and attentive service. The children’s pool and kids’ club provided ample entertainment for our little ones, allowing us some much-needed relaxation time. One of the best family resorts in Malaysia.

Hard Rock Hotel Penang – vibrant family fun by the beach

For families seeking a lively atmosphere, Hard Rock Hotel Penang in Batu Ferringhi offers a rock ‘n’ roll experience with family-friendly amenities.
Penang is an exciting place to visit – vibrant, colourful and with plenty going on. Stop here to see the fantastic street art in Georgetown and take time out to explore the fabulous foodie scene all across the island. Families will love the beaches all around Batu Ferringhi and this is where the Hard Rock Hotel Penang provides a whole range of fun for families. There’s a great swimming pool with mini water park and a fabulous kids club. The food here is of course great and the interiors have a very cool vibe. Some of the rooms open up on to the swimming pool. This is a really fun hotel and one of the best family hotels in Penang.

Staying at the Hard Rock Hotel was a hit with our children, who loved the pool’s water slides and the nightly live music. The staff’s energy and enthusiasm added to the overall vibrant experience.

Permai Rainforest Resort – eco-adventure for the whole family

Immerse your family in nature at the Permai Rainforest Resort, located in Santubong, Sarawak. This eco-resort offers a unique blend of comfort and adventure within a rainforest setting.
Sarawak is a beautiful part of Borneo and the perfect place to take children to see the orangutans at the amazing Semenggoh Wildlife Centre. There’s plenty more to do in the area too including taking a wildlife walk through the beautiful Bako National Park and visiting the Cat Museum in Kuching. You can really get away from the world at the Permai Rainforest Resort. Here there are treehouses and little lodges set within the rainforest. Most of the accommodation have a couple of rooms and there’s an on-site swimming pool and a lovely private beach. This is not luxurious accommodation in any sense but it is somewhere very different that kids will get so much from a stay at.

Situated on the southern coast of Johor, The Westin Desaru Coast Resort provides a serene beachfront escape with modern amenities.
Johor is a region of southern Malaysia bordering Singapore. This region is often overlooked by visitors but is undergoing a big revamp. It also has LEGOLAND in its vicinity along with some fabulous hotels. This represents a lovely Malaysian getaway.

Nestled in the heart of Tanah Rata, Century Pines Resort offers a peaceful escape from the heat of the lowlands, making it ideal for families looking for fresh air and green views. The cool climate and gentle pace of the highlands create the perfect setting for a relaxing break.
Cameron Highlands represents sprawling tea fields at Malaysia’s highest point. This part of the country is lush and green and a breath of fresh air in every sense. It’s a fairly large tourist destination though and as such there are a number of resorts there. Century Pines Resort Cameron Highland is up there with the best hotel in Cameron Highlands for family trips. They have duplex suites which come with sofa beds for visiting families. The setting here is really beautiful and it’s the perfect location to take in this peaceful area. The hotel is also walking distance from Tanah Rata Bus Station, Cameron Bharat Plantation and Cameron Highlands Tea Plantation.

Shangri-La’s Tanjung Aru Resort & Spa, Kota Kinabalu – tropical luxury with a family twist – best family resorts in Malaysia
Located just a short drive from Kota Kinabalu, Shangri-La’s Tanjung Aru Resort & Spa is a dreamy family destination with stunning sea views, loads of kid-friendly features, and that classic Shangri-La service. It’s ideal for families wanting both adventure and serious relaxation.
This is a very special resort located on Borneo’s Kota Kinabalu in Sabah. There’s a very cool water play area (with dedicated areas for toddlers and teenagers) set amongst the amazing swimming pools and with six stunning restaurants this is somewhere to come and really relax. They have family friendly rooms which are spacious. This is a fantastic base from which to explore bustling Kota Kinabalu where you can take trips out to see the Orangutans, visit the Mari Mari Cultural Village or take a local cooking class.
