If you’re looking for a luxury hotel that really understands what families need, Shangri-La Singapore is a brilliant choice. It’s tucked away in a lush, quiet part of the city near Orchard Road and is genuinely one of the best city hotels we’ve stayed in as a family.

We stayed here with our children and had such a memorable time – from the fantastic pool to the incredible play space and lovely staff who went out of their way to make us feel welcome. It’s one of the few city hotels we’ve found that truly combines luxury with family-friendly features, without compromising on either.

Located in the heart of Singapore’s Central Business District, the Clan Hotel is a stylish base for families who want comfort with a bit of culture. Its mix of contemporary interiors and traditional touches gives it a really welcoming feel.

Set in the colourful and culturally rich Katong neighbourhood, Hotel Indigo is packed with personality. From the Peranakan-inspired design to the local cafés on your doorstep, it’s a brilliant place to base yourself if you want to soak up a bit more of Singapore’s heritage.

The best family hotel Singapore - Raffles
Raffles Singapore

Staying at Raffles Singapore is like stepping into a storybook. This iconic hotel is full of heritage and charm, and having visited with my family, I can honestly say it lives up to the hype. While it’s known for its luxury and history, it’s also incredibly welcoming to children and makes for a very special family experience.

🛏 all-suite accommodation – with butler service and lots of space for families

We loved our time at Raffles — the mix of calm luxury and Singaporean history made it feel really unique. It’s not your average family hotel, but if you’re after a once-in-a-lifetime kind of stay with your children, this is the one.

This is Singapore’s only beachfront resort, and it’s a dream spot for a family holiday. Set right on Siloso Beach, Shangri-La Rasa Sentosa offers tropical resort vibes while still being close to the city centre.

This is one of our favourites. The kids were obsessed with the waterslides, and we loved the relaxed resort feel.


If you’re after a touch of old-world charm, the Fullerton delivers. Housed in a grand neoclassical building, it’s one of Singapore’s most iconic hotels, and yet still manages to be very family-friendly.

We loved the combination of history and high-end comfort here – it felt really special but was still great with children in tow.


For something a bit more modern and budget-conscious, lyf Funan is great. It’s based inside a shopping centre, which sounds strange but actually makes life super convenient, especially with kids.

We tried this out for a couple of nights and loved the flexibility. It’s not traditional luxury, but it’s very cool and functional – ideal if you want a more urban, independent feel.


Located just above Farrer Park MRT, One Farrer Hotel offers a lovely blend of urban convenience and resort-style facilities. With large rooms and a beautiful pool, it’s a brilliant option for families wanting space and a bit of luxury.

The location is great for families – the Farrer Park MRT Station is below the hotel, the City Square Mall is 500 yards away and the fantastic shopping at Orchard Road are a 15-minute drive away.


Set in the heart of the Katong neighbourhood, Village Hotel Katong has a colourful, Peranakan-inspired design and a relaxed vibe. It’s a lovely choice for families who want to stay somewhere a little more unique.

For something totally different, The Bohemian is a quirky, social stay right in Chinatown. It’s a hostel-style setup but with private family rooms available, so great for adventurous families on a budget.

Families of four will love this funky hostel that has four dorm rooms you can book out.

Set in the vibrant Chinatown, Universal Studios Singapore is 2.5 miles away and Telok Ayer MRT Station is just 0.3 miles away.

Families will love the games room and guest lounge where they can relax in the evenings.

The hostel even offers a one way free shuttle from the airport which is a benefit.

It’s worth noting that The Bohemian offers accommodation to children over the age of six and the bathrooms are shared (hence the fantastic price this comes in at). So while it won’t be for everyone it is one of the great budget family hotels in Singapore.


Set in a quieter part of town but still close to everything, Courtyard by Marriott Singapore Novena offers lovely modern rooms and an absolutely stunning rooftop pool.

Good family hotels in Singapore aren’t hard to come by but great ones need a little more searching.

The Courtyard by Marriott Singapore Novena definitely falls in to the great category, particularly for the price it comes in at.

They have inter-connecting rooms which are great for families looking for more space and kids will love the rooftop swimming pool.

Located in the Novena District the metro is 450 yards from the hotel and the brilliant shopping area of Orchard Road is a 15 minute drive away.


Fairmont is perfectly placed right in the heart of the city, with stunning views, brilliant restaurants, and great rooms for families. It’s connected to Raffles City Shopping Centre, so super handy too.

They are attached to Raffles Shopping Centre and they have two outdoor pools. Within walking distance from the hotel is The Mint Museum of Toys which has a private collection of over 50,000 toys and also nearby is the iconic Gardens by the Bay.

This is a Singapore hotel that is incredibly welcoming of families and is sure to create a great family stay.


Tucked just behind the buzz of Orchard Road, Four Seasons offers calm, elegance, and brilliant service – perfect if you want a luxurious base for your family trip.

The Marina Bay Sands is a wonderful hotel with the world’s largest rooftop infinity pool.

This really is an iconic hotel with 20 restaurants and direct access to the Marina Bay Sands Mall and the ArtScience Museum.

The hotel has fantastic family studios with spacious balconies and open-air dining areas. This is probably the most iconic location in Singapore and certainly if you’re looking for the best family hotel Singapore has on offer this would need to make the list.

Singapore is incredibly family friendly. There are a huge number of fun attractions to enjoy and the country is safe, clean and welcoming. It’s perfect for a family holiday particularly in one of the hotels mentioned here.

What is the best area to stay in Singapore?

All of the hotels we list are in great areas but generally it’s great to be near the shopping street of Orchard Road, Sentosa Island is fun and Little India and Chinatown are vibrant.
