Budock Vean is a lovely hotel near Falmouth and on the banks of the beautiful Helford River. This is old school hotel accommodation of the best kind. There are plenty of activities on offer from kayaking on the river to croquet and tennis. The hotel has family suites with two bedrooms and also self catering houses on the grounds to rent. This is a family-friendly hotel Cornwall style which allows you to feel away from the world and really enjoy the gorgeous setting.
YHA Eden Project
YHA have really developed their family friendly offerings and their location at the fabulous Eden Project is no exception. Offering pods and bell tents for families of four or below they are a great budget place to stay for families. Only available April to October they are a great way to experience the best of the Cornish environment and a fun stay when you’re visiting with kids.
A hotel for the younger kids The Sands Hotel is a great set up for families with everything you could ever need for a trip away. This is almost exclusively a hotel for staying at with younger children (under 5s probably best but there will be something for slightly older kids too) and one of the great family resorts in Cornwall. They have family rooms and the hotel is packed full of facilities and activities from a kids’ club, swimming pool, adventure playground and more. There is family dining and a really good breakfast spread. Just outside of Newquay this is fantastic family accommodation Cornwall style.
This is a really sweet hotel close to the picturesque St Mawes, near Falmouth. With family rooms with two bedrooms and a few self catering features in the rooms this is perfect when you’re travelling with kids. This hotel has beautiful grounds all overlooking the sparkling sea beyond. They have an indoor swimming pool and a family lounge where you can pull out the board games on rainy days. The hotel offers some fantastic food including a children’s tea option making it one of the best child friendly hotels Cornwall has.
Priory Lodge Hotel
This hotel, set in a former vicarage from the 1920s is in Newquay and well set up for family holidays. Just a two minute walk from the beach there’s an onsite outdoor swimming pool which kids will love. St Michaels Resort & Spa
St Michaels, just outside of Falmouth, is a wonderful hotel for a family stay. They have different configurations of bedrooms including two bedroom family suites which work really well when you are staying with kids. With a a wonderful indoor heated pool and just a couple of minutes walk to the amazing Gyllyngvase Beach it’s a great option. Tregenna Castle Resort
This 72 acre resort overlooks the beautiful coastline at St Ives. Kids, and adults, will love the opportunity to stay in this unique castle but they also have 55 self catering properties in their grounds. They have accommodation options from families of three up to 12 members. They put on a whole selection of activities for kids during holidays and there is also tennis, swimming (indoor and outdoor), golf and more on site. Certainly a fantastic family resort Cornwall has for all ages.
Polurrian on the Lizard
As the name suggests this hotel is set down on the Lizard and full of old school glamour mixed with modern day style. They have family rooms that sleep five and self catering villas which sleep six. There is a beach that is accessible from the hotel, perfect for sandcastle building or rock pool searching. There are indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a playground, tennis court and a film room. They also put on a number of different activities for kids of all ages (from fun cookery to paddle boarding). One of the great Cornwall resorts for families.
This is a wonderful, luxury hotel set out on the headland on the outskirts of Newquay and overlooking the world famous Fistral Beach. A dramatic looking Victoria hotel (it was the setting for the film version of Roald Dahl’s The Witches) it is full of character and you’ll receive the warmest welcome. There is a great pool and steps down to the beach from the hotel. Rooms come as interconnecting or fantastic two bedroom suites which work really well for families. There’s a fab breakfast with plenty of family friendly favourites and a great kids’ menu. If you’re looking for a family hotel Cornwall style this is certainly one of the best.
Legacy Hotel Victoria
The Legacy Hotel Victoria is a luxury hotel in Newquay. It has lots here to tempt families from its onsite restaurants to its heated indoor swimming pool complete with sea views. Families will enjoy the family rooms and that it is just a five minute walk in to the centre of Newquay with all entertainment this town provides. The world famous Fistral Beach is a 20 minute walk away. The grounds at the Legacy Hotel Victoria are gorgeous and the hotel has many lovely luxury touches to keep the whole family happy.

Penventon Park Hotel
Penventon Park is one of the great family hotels in Cornwall. This Georgian mansion is set in private grounds giving it a really unique feel. Kids will love the indoor heated pool and there are family rooms so everyone has enough space. It’s an easy 10 minute drive to the nearest beach of Portreath and St Ives is around a 30 minute drive away putting it in a great location for a break to Cornwall with kids.
Carbis Bay and Spa Hotel
Carbis Bay and Spa Hotel is a luxurious hotel set among gorgeous grounds and with its own 25-acre Blue Flag beach. With a heated outdoor pool, amazing grounds to explore and a restaurant with kid’s menus there is plenty here to keep kids occupied. They have fabulous two bedroom apartments which are perfect for families. The South West Coast Path runs right through the estate grounds making it an easy, beautiful 25 minute walk to St Ives with all its galleries, shops and restaurants.
This is a luxurious hotel set almost on the beach at the stunning Rosalind Peninsular. The rooms here are large and the hotel are happy to add additional beds, they also have family rooms with a separate alcove for one or two children. Una St Ives is a collection of self catering houses that come with one, two, three or four bedrooms. This is a lovely, small resort. There are big plans here to expand (and it’s worth checking the impact of any building work when you book). At the moment there’s a lovely swimming pool and onsite restaurant and cafe. Sat just above Carbis Bay and with easy access to St Ives this is a great location.
