Rovaniemi is seen as the capital of Lapland and is a great place to enjoy a trip to see Father Christmas or have a go at husky dog sledding or skiing from. Scandic Rovaniemi City
The Scandic Rovaniemi City is ideally situated right in the centre of the city. This is a really comfortable hotel with a cool Scandi design throughout. They have a whole selection of different rooms including romantic doubles with their own hot tubs through to fantastic family rooms with bunk beds for the kids. There’s a huge buffet breakfast with choice for all diets and an onsite restaurant too.

Santa Claus Hotel Rovaniemi
The Santa’s Hotel Santa Claus is set right in the centre of Rovaniemi, making it easy to get around from. All the shops and restaurants of the city are close by and it’s easy to get the bus or drive in to Santa Claus Village from here too. The Hotel Santa Claus Rovaniemi has guest rooms that can sleep three or you can book two with a note for them to interconnect. There’s a lovely terrace for the summer months and a great restaurant and cafe here. Santa Claus Hotel Rovaniemi is one of the best hotels in Rovaniemi.
Ollero Eco Lodge – glass igloo Rovaniemi
Staying in a glass igloo Rovaniemi style means heading a little out of the city to take advantage of undisturbed night skies. Ollero Eco Lodge is a holiday home which comes with its own glass igloo. You book the holiday home, with three bedrooms and a well equipped kitchen and it comes with a glass igloo in the grounds, perfect for spotting the Northern Lights from. This is the perfect accommodation in Rovaniemi for families or couples.
Nova Skyland Hotel – hotels in Rovaniemi
The Nova Skyland Hotel is perfect for anyone visiting Rovaniemi who wants to be close to the main sites but also get that winter wonderland feel. It’s just a short 200 metre walk to the Santa Claus Village with all of the attractions on offer there. The bus also goes from the village to Rovaniemi centre and to Santa Park. There are rooms for doubles or sofa beds for those travelling with kids. One of the great hotels in Rovaniemi.
Santa Claus Holiday Village
Staying onsite at the Santa Claus Holiday Village is a really special experience. Right in the heart of the Santa Claus Village in the Arctic Circle you can stay here in a private cabin. The lovely cabins have private saunas and kitchenettes. They come with all the mod cons and are really warm with private bathrooms and tvs. They will even offer you a private transfer from Rovaniemi airport. There’s plenty of dining options nearby if you don’t feel like cooking in.
Arctic TreeHouse Hotel
Situated next to the SantaPark, the Arctic TreeHouse hotel has beautiful suites with amazing glass windows to view the forest and even, hopefully, the Northern Lights from. These Nordic designed suites feel very luxurious and have the benefit of feeling out in the forest whilst still being very accessible to the city centre.
Villa Vaska
If you’re looking for somewhere really different to stay then 40 minutes outside of Rovaniemi is the absolutely beautiful cabin at Porohaka Reindeer Farm. With its own sauna you can really relax here with the most stunning views across the lake. Sleeping eight this really is a unique opportunity to stay somewhere very special.
Lapland Hotels Ounasvaara Chalets
Out near the city’s ski slopes at Ounasvaara and next to the Kemijoki River, the Lapland Hotels Ounasvaara Chalets are a really lovely, comfortable stay. There’s a main building complete with restaurant, bar and fires to warm up by. Dotted around the grounds are the hotel’s chalets and apartments with private saunas and fully equipped kitchens. There’s an onsite restaurant for breakfast and dinner. Rovaniemi is just over a five minute drive away.
Original Sokos Hotel Rovaniemi
The Original Sokos Hotel Rovaniemi is situated right in the centre of the city with the iconic Jätkänkynttilä Bridge just 200 yards away. The hotel is also around a 10 minute drive to the Santa Claus Village. There are two onsite restaurants and rooms are nicely designed.
Hostel Café Koti
For those on a budget looking for hotels in Rovaniemi, Hostel Cafe Koti is perfect. Located in the centre of the city this accommodation is bright and cheerful, clean and with a great Scandi style. There are private rooms with private en suites through to dorms with shared bathrooms. The Sampokeskus Shopping Center is just 550 yards away and there’s wifi throughout. There a shared, well equipped kitchen, a Finnish sauna and a common lounge to enjoy.
