The Family Hotel Expert view –

We thought the facilities at New Park Manor were outstanding. Children are so welcome here with a fabulous kid’s club with changing activities each day. There’s an indoor and outdoor pool and outdoor play equipment geared for different age groups. Teenagers aren’t forgotten with computer games and games machines to play with. There’s a film put on at 6pm and 8pm for children, right next to the dining room so adults can eat (see more in ‘dining’) while the children watch. The spa is wonderful for some adult time with a great range of treatments available. There are libraries full of books for all ages as well as toy chests full of games to enjoy during your stay.

New Park Manor – the rooms

There are 25 different sized rooms and different parts of the hotel you can stay in from the older house to the modern block over the spa. The hotel has everything from cosy doubles to family suites and interconnecting rooms for those wanting more space. The Bramley products in the bathroom are fabulous and non disposable. There’s a Nespresso machine and pods in the bedrooms and gowns and slippers for all the family.

The Family Hotel Expert view –

Where you stay will probably come down to a matter of preference. Half of the rooms are in the old building which have more character but are less practical. We prefer the modern block over the spa where purpose built rooms interconnect through the bathroom to create a really comfortable space for families. One of the bathrooms had a lovely big freestanding bath and both had showers which were so good we didn’t want to leave them. The products are beautiful and add to the whole feel-good of a stay here.

New Park Manor Hotel, New Forest – the location

The New Forest really does feel like the perfect retreat and it’s well worth an explore. The Tall Trees Trail is a ten minute drive away and a chance to see beautiful redwoods which are lovely for a walk through in every season. Horses roam freely and the setting really does lend itself to a feeling of relaxation. The beautiful town of Lyndhurst is also a short drive away and full of little bakeries, antique shops and small supermarkets for picking up supplies. It’s around a half an hour drive to Southampton if you’re looking for somewhere busier.

The Family Hotel Expert view –

The New Forest is a great place to come and recentre. It’s perfect for family time or couple time and a lovely retreat from day-to-day life. While it’s well connected in terms of visiting other places the New Park Manor is somewhere that has everything you need and you may well not want to leave while you’re staying here.

Food and drink at New Park Manor Hotel

The hotel has an on-site restaurant across two locations – one for those travelling with kids and one for those without kids.

🍳 – Breakfast

Breakfast was very busy at the weekend when we visited but there was plenty of food to go around if service was a little slower. The pastries were great (cinnamon swirls and apricot Danishes particular favourites) but fresh fruit juice would have been welcome. There were pots of coffee and hot chocolate for the children and lots of cereals and fruits to enjoy too. There was a small selection of cheese and meat. The breakfast picked up a notch with the hot selection with choices including porridge with cinnamon and apple, pancakes, eggs benedict and a full English (a veggie version included).

🫖 – Afternoon Tea

Afternoon Tea is served in one of the lounges and is well received but not tried by the Family Hotel Expert team.

🍽️ – Dinner

Dinner is split into three possible options. There’s a kid’s tea between 5pm and 6pm with lots of child friendly favourite foods including pizza, salmon, burgers and pasta. Between 6pm and 7pm it’s possible to have a family dinner all together and from 7.30pm onwards it is for adult only dining. We opted for the family dinner and thought the food was very good. The children enjoyed fish and chips, pizza and fish cakes while we had starters including mushrooms and spinach on sourdough and main courses of a vegan ravioli girasole with spinach and grilled cherry tomatoes. We all really enjoyed the puddings including brownies and waffles for the kids and dark chocolate and poached pear bombes with honey sponge, toffee and mascarpone for the adults. The food isn’t particularly cheap at New Park Manor but we did think the standard was high with some great choices.

New Park Manor Hotel – family friendly

This hotel is about as family friendly as they come. Nothing is too much trouble. There’s plastic cutlery available for younger children and a real sense of camaraderie amongst parents who are still clinging on to the desire to visit really lovely hotels with children in tow. There are so many activities on offer from outside play equipment and games to books, video games, cinema nights and more. Children love the kid’s club here and the swimming pool with its lights that change colour in the evening is a big hit. It’s a really special place and one that none of the family will want to leave.
