The Family Hotel Expert view –

We thought the facilities at the Scandic Park Helsinki were really good. It was lovely to have a pool we could use and although it was pretty chilly (which we have found in other Scandinavian hotels), the children really enjoyed it. It was nice to have the saunas and the small play area next to the restaurant was well used by younger children visiting the hotel.

Scandic Park Hotel Helsinki – the rooms

There are a number of different types of rooms available at the hotel from singles through to doubles and you can stay in a standard room or one with a few extra perks called a superior. The rooms are a great size with lovely FACE Stockholm products in non disposable containers. It’s worth noting that tea and coffee making facilities are restricted to the superior rooms.

The Family Hotel Expert view –

We thought the rooms were a great size, clean and with Scandi functionality that really works. A few extra amenities (a kettle, conditioner) would have been welcome but they really didn’t detract from the stay (and are available in the superior rooms) and we loved the space and the ability to have interconnecting rooms.

Scandic Park Helsinki Hotel – the location

The hotel is based just out of the city centre which is an easy walk in or there’s a tram stop almost opposite that takes around five minutes to travel there from. The area is safe and welcoming with the benefit of the beautiful Töölönlahti Bay and the surrounding park opposite.

The Family Hotel Expert view –

We had week long tickets to use the public transport in Helsinki and found it really easy to jump on and off the trams to get around. We really liked the location, it felt fairly quiet and yet very accessible. The park opposite was great to be able to run around in.

Food and drink at Scandic Park Hotel, Helsinki

There is one restaurant at the hotel which is open for breakfast and dinner.

The Family Hotel Expert view –

🍳 – Breakfast was a huge spread of food. There were pastries (including cinnamon buns and croissants), cheeses and meats, a salad bar, hot porridge, pancake and a hot buffet. There was a large gluten free selection, hot drinks (including hot chocolate, teas and coffee) and lots of cereal. There was something for everyone. This is a large space and it did feel busy at the weekend (much quieter on weekdays) but the staff were great at clearing away finished with plates and replenishing all the food.

We didn’t eat dinner at the hotel.

Scandic Park Helsinki – family friendly

Welcome gifts

This is a lovely, family friendly hotel and the children loved the little welcome gift of some chocolate and smoothies on arrival. There’s a small play area next to the restaurant for younger children to play and the swimming pool is a great benefit which kids will love.
