This is a very new, lovely family resort in Italy which is in the beautiful Lake Garda area. With three swimming pools, a splash park and kids club up to 12 years old this is great for families. You can stay on a bed and breakfast or half board basis and their two bedroom family suites are ideal for those with kids.
Hilton Garden Inn Venice Mestre
A trip to Venice is always going to be special, it’s the perfect location for family fun. Lose yourself in the backstreets, take a gondola ride through the canals and find out all about the intrigue at the Doge’s Palace. Stay at the Hilton Garden Inn Venice Mestre which is on the mainland and in easy reach of the centre of Venice. The hotel has a great outdoor pool which is perfect in the summer. The location of Parco San Marco is wonderful, set overlooking the picturesque Lake Lugano, it is close to the border with Switzerland and has that combined Alpine and Mediterranean feel to it. The resort is set up with lots of apartments (just over 100 in total) that climb up the hillside for lovely lakeside views. Apartments come in one bedroom (with sofa bed in the lounge) and two bedrooms (also with the sofa bed) and both with a small kitchenette. The resort has so much going on for families including indoor and outdoor pools, playgrounds dotted throughout the grounds and even its own private beach on the lake side. There’s a great kids club and the restaurant here is wonderful with a fabulous breakfast spread and great evening meals too. With Lake Como just 12 km away and Milan 90 km away there are plenty of opportunities to get out and see more of Italy while you’re here. Certainly one of the best family resorts in Italy.
Masseria Torre Coccaro, Puglia

Puglia is an absolutely wonderful location for a trip to the country and if you’re looking for luxury family holidays to Italy then Masseria Torre Coccaro should be top of your list. Situated in a former olive oil mill these quirky rooms are all different and packed full of character. There are a number of suites that work for families and a fantastic onsite restaurant for amazing food all day long. There’s an indoor and outdoor pool, mini water park, playground, kids club and lovely grounds to explore. In summer the masseria also has its own beach 45 minutes away with restaurant and activities. Nearby the main town of Bari is 60 km away and there are the World UNESCO Heritage towns of Alberobello and Matera that are wonderful day trips. Masseria Torre Coccaro is a chance to experience southern Italy at its best.

A former palace where you can fling open the shutters to hear the singing gondoliers working their way through the canals below. Hotel Saturnia & International is a beautiful hotel in the heart of Venice and while it oozes luxury it is also very family friendly. They have some wonderful family rooms which are big enough for a family of five to comfortably relax in at the end of a day out sightseeing. There is a wonderful restaurant for a fantastic morning breakfast spread including fruit cakes, waffles and fruit and a concierge that will great you like family (and tell you all the best, secret spots to visit). The hotel is in a fantastic location, making it easy to wander out to the main sights and with St Mark’s Square just a 5 minute stroll away. This is a delightful spa hotel for families. Set in the heart of Tuscany with the medieval towns of Montemerano, Sorano, Sovana and Pitigliano all close by. About 180 km south of Florence, this hotel is a real retreat. Set around natural springs there are pools galore in this resort. There are a number of different styles of accommodation to suit families from two bedroom suites to villas. As this is a wellness resort there are lots of pools here to enjoy and this is one of the best family hotels Italy has in this area.

This 4 star hotel is a wonderful hotel for families and a holiday in its own right, there’s no need to go anywhere else if you don’t want to tear yourself away. The Hotel Borgo Pantano is 7 miles from Syracuse which is both an interesting city and packed with beautiful beaches. The hotel offers family rooms (across two floors) to those travelling with kids and these provide a great space to relax in. The resort is set on a farmhouse dating back to 1861 and packed full of fruit trees so is a beautiful setting. There’s a fantastic freeform outdoor pool, games room and kids club. The food at this resort also comes very highly rated. This is a fantastic base from which to explore Sicily but also somewhere you can come and spend time and not want or need to leave.
