Shanklin is a lovely seaside town on the east coast and one of the really popular destinations in the Isle of Wight, for a good reason. It has so much to do here from gorgeous beaches to the lovely Old Village packed full of characterful shops. It’s the perfect place to rent a beach hut and spend hours on the beach. There are fun activities nearby including Pirates Cove with its adventure golf and theme park style rides and the spectacular Shanklin Chine, a wonderful waterfall filled ravine that is perfect for walks with kids. Shanklin is a great place to base yourself on your Isle of Wight family holidays.
Brunswick Hotel is one of the great Isle of Wight hotels for families. With both an indoor and outdoor swimming pool it’s a great retreat for those travelling with kids. Whitefield Forest Touring Park is a lovely campsite on the Isle of Wight which welcomes families. They have a lovely play park along with a bush craft area in the woods that kids will adore. The facilities here are well looked after and it’s a nice quiet, five star site ideal for Isle of Wight family camping.
Ventnor is a super sweet town on the south east coast of the Isle of Wight. This picturesque town was a traditional Victorian seaside town that has remained popular ever since. In fact it was one of the country’s best loved health resorts as the town has a unique climate, perfect for somewhere to come to take the air. For something really unique hire one of the Victorian “bathing machines” that have been converted in to beach huts. Or if you’re looking for something more modern then head to Blackgang Chine for some theme park fun the kids will love and is just outside of Ventnor.
The Hambrough is somewhere to come and really relax in the Isle of Wight. The hotel overlooks the sea and is just a five minute stroll from Ventnor beach.
